Profile
Hi! Thank you for visiting my website. Here is a general overview of my experience.
I have been in the field of special education for 25 years. I earned my doctorate at The College of William and Mary and I have worked as a paraprofessional, respite care worker, teacher, tutor, consultant, administrator and teacher educator. I have served in public and private settings in all environments on the continuum of services for children 3-21 with disabilities including schools, colleges, hospitals, home sites, virtual sites, and community facilities. I have taught for Hampton University, Old Dominion University, George Washington University and University of Minnesota Duluth. I have published in journals, conducted research, evaluated programs and districts, created and implemented programs and curriculum, and written more Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) than one can count! I have given more than 100 workshops, inservice sessions and presentations in this field. I have a passion for understanding the neurological aspects of varying disabilities and applying that to everyday life for kids. I am committed to delivering high quality, best practice interventions for kids.
My mission is clear—it is to serve, to the best of my ability, for the highest benefit of all. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to do so, and for all the children and students who have graced my life.
